Huntington Stabbing Kills 2, Injures 2; Suspect at Large

A statewide manhunt is underway for a Huntington man who is a person of interest in the stabbing deaths of two people and the injuring of two others last night.

Police were called to the 600 Block of Whitelock Street around 7:30pm Thursday where they found one person dead at the scene. A second person was taken for treatment but died later.

The suspect is identified as James Lee Bonewitz, who detectives say left the scene before police arrived. Madison County Sheriff’s deputies say they found the man’s vehicle in northern Madison County before the crime scene in Huntington was discovered.

Bonewitz is described as 6’3 with brown hair and a beard. He is considered armed and dangerous.
