COVID patients continue to fill the intensive care unit beds at Goshen Hospital.

In their weekly release, Goshen Health officials say the number of patients in their COVID unit is 42, and with those filling ICU beds, surgeries at the hospital continue to be canceled. Goshen Hospital Chief Medical Officer and Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Dan Nafzinger says they are looking forward to having the first supply of the COVID vaccine available as soon as next week.

Nafzinger says the vaccinations will be “one of the most critical efforts we’ve been waiting for that will save lives and reduce the number of people who need to be hospitalized.”
