IMS President Boles says fans allowed at weekend GP, requests up on attendance cap

SPEEDWAY (Network Indiana) — All systems go for the IndyCar Harvest Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Track activity — starting today with practice and qualifying happening today for Race 1 of the doubleheader.

The first race will go off at 3:30-eastern on Friday. Race 2 will start at 2:30 the next day. IndyCar is joined by the Intercontinental GT Challenge Series and the GT World Challenge America Series for a 8-hour sportscar endurance race on Sunday.

IMS President Doug Boles says he has reached out to the city of Indianapolis to see if they can allow more fans into the track. The city capped attendence at 10,000, but Boles believes they can safely allow more fans through the gates.
