Indiana Prison On Lockdown

A central Indiana prison was on lockdown this weekend following the fatal stabbing of an inmate. The Indiana Department of Correction says 34-year-old Darwin Elmore was stabbed shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday. Medics were called, but Elmore died at about 11:30 p.m. Prison officials and Indiana State Police are investigating Elmore's death. The suspect is being held in isolation and officials say his name won't be released unless he is formally charged by the Putnam County prosecutor's office. Elmore was serving two consecutive sentences for dealing in cocaine in Marion County.
