INDOT to add lane restrictions to S.R. 13 in Kosciusko County

The Indiana Department of Transportation announced that traffic will be restricted to one lane on Ind. 13 in two locations in Kosciusko County, weather permitting.

The lane restrictions are necessary to allow INDOT contractors to install two new pipe liners, according to an INDOT news release.

Motorists can expect to see temporary traffic signals, used to alternate vehicles over the single-lane road, installed in the following locations:
• Ind. 13 between North Southshore Drive and North Brown Street near the Town of Syracuse.
• Ind. 13 between EMS B6 Lane and EMS B7 Lane near Kuhn Lake.

The release states motorists should be prepared for stopped traffic while the contractor completes the pipe liner installation. INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through an active construction zone.

Work on the Ind. 13 pipe liners is expected to continue through late April, weather permitting.

The contract was awarded to Northern Indiana Construction Co. Inc. for $2.2 million and also includes the rehabilitation of several structures throughout the district.
