BLOOMINGTON — Indiana University has fired head football coach Tom Allen after seven seasons, according to several reports including the Indiana Daily Student on Sunday.

The Hoosiers paid $20.8 million to buy Allen out of the final three years of his contract, which was last restructured by athletic director Scott Dolson in March 2021, The Daily Student reported.

The loss comes less than a day after IU lost to Purdue in the Old Oaken Bucket matchup, 35-31.

Allen compiled a career record of 33-49, including a 6-2 market in 2020, the Daily Student reported.
