Ivy Tech Experiencing Poor On-Time Graduation Rates

Indiana's higher education commissioner says Ivy Tech's poor on-time graduate rates are partly due to growing pains. Just four percent of Ivy Tech students earn their degrees on time and just 28 percent earn their degrees after six years. Higher Education Commissioner Teresa Lubbers says one possibility is to re-do how Ivy Tech offers its classes. Lubbers says Ivy Tech has already moved to reduce the effect of remediation on graduation rates by allowing students to receive credit for remedial coursework, so they‘re still able to make progress toward their degree.
