James “Jim” Neal Reeve

James “Jim” Neal Reeve of Pierceton, Indiana passed away at 2:57 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 74.

He was born on August 12, 1947 in Argos, Indiana.  Jim was one of three children born to Kathryn Naomi (Colvin) Reeve and James Edward Reeve.  They raised three boys and shared the ups and downs of life together throughout their 36 years of marriage before he passed away.

Jim was a 1967 graduate of Warsaw High School and that same year he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.  He proudly served for four years and was honorably discharged as a Vietnam Veteran.

For most of his working life, Jim was an active insurance agent.  He was very knowledgeable, and it was a job that suited his personality well.  He was a problem-solver, self-motivated, honest, passionate and a good listener.  All of these qualities he tried to instill in his scouts as an active member of the Boy Scouts of America.  He served as unit commissioner, charter organization representative and Cub Master of Pack 3772.  Jim had a heart for serving and enjoyed being a member of the Lake City Lions Club of Warsaw having served as past president, and district governor, as well as being a member and past president of Warsaw Morning Optimist Club.

Jim loved to be around people and always had a great time just simply having a conversation with others.  He had a knack for bringing smiles to peoples faces as well as a good chuckle for he was the BEST joke teller ever!  He loved to share about circus history and Roy Rogers “The King of the Cowboys” was one of Jim’s childhood role models that stayed with him into adulthood.  He loved to do presentations on Roy Rogers history, with his bandana knotted around his neck, his six-shooters tied low around his waist, Jim brought Roy Rogers to life.  Jim loved life, loved his family and will forever be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife:  Sheri Lee Reeve (Pierceton, Indiana); three sons:  Michael Reeve (Huntsville, North Carolina); Scott Reeve (Conroe, Texas); Brian (Melanie) Reeve (Garner, North Carolina); and his two favorite grandchildren:  Pressley and Colin.  Also surviving is his brother:  Dennis (Shelly) Reeve (Westfield, Indiana); and his sister:  Darlene (Jerry) DeTurk (Warsaw, Indiana).  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.  Jim’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Ernie Troxell.  A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw, Indiana with military rites conducted by members of the American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W. #1126 both of Warsaw.
