WARSAW — Kosciusko County Democrats are fielding numerous candidates in township races this year, including three in the race for three seat on the Plain Township Board.
Those candidates will be highlighted when Democrats kick off their fall campaign on July 30 with a gathering at Papa Vino’s in Warsaw, featuring a speech from former US Sen. Joe Donnelly.
The meeting is especially geared toward the Plain Township race and highlights the Democrat candidates — Brian Smith, Robert Osbun and Rebecca Noftz — in a new email distributed by the county party.
They’ll face Republicans Greg Anderson, Robert Bishop and Larry Kammerer in November’s general election.
Smith, who also serves as the second district party chair, said the event serves as a fundraiser and will provide some insights to those attending about township government.
Admission is free and donations are appreciated, the email said.
“We want to increase outreach to the community. We want to be more transparent in how our tax dollars are spent and we just want to educate the voters as to what services are available and what township government actually does,” Smith said.
Papa Vino’s is on the west side of SR 15 at 2640 Escalade Way in Warsaw.
Election Day is Nov. 3.
