Jury Selected To Hear Teacher’s Lawsuit Over Her Claim She Was Fired By Diocese

A jury has been selected to hear a schoolteacher's lawsuit over her claim she was fired by an Indiana Diocese. Emily Herx of Hogland says the Fort Wayne-South Bend Catholic Diocese fired her from her job because she tried to get pregnant through in vitro fertilization, which is banned under Catholic doctrine. Attorneys spent about two hours Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Fort Wayne selecting 12 jurors to hear Herx's lawsuit against the Diocese. The trial is expected to last the rest of the week.
