KCSD Honors Retirement Of Deputy Sheriff John Hart

KSCD Press Release – The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department honored one of its own yesterday with the retirement of Deputy Sheriff John Hart.  

Hart began his law enforcement career with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department as a reserve officer in 1977.  He was subsequently hired as a deputy marshal in 1978 for the Town of Mentone, serving until 1987 and holding the position of Town Marshall during his tenure.  In 1987, John was hired fulltime by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, where he served until yesterday.  Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine stated that Deputy Hart “was truly dedicated to the department, and served many facets of the agency.”  During his time with the sheriff’s department, John had served as road officer, detective, evidence room technician, undercover officer, Dive Team member, and most currently, as the SRO (School Resource Officer) for the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation.  
Hart was honored yesterday with a retirement party at the Kosciusko County Justice Building by numerous officers, employees, family, and members of the community.  Sheriff Rovenstine stated that John had served the citizens of Mentone and Kosciusko County for a total of 37 years.
