Kosciusko County active COVID cases continue to drop

Weekly coronavirus numbers are at the lowest since late May in Kosciusko County.

In the Tuesday update from the Kosciusko County Health Department, 34 cases were reported overall last week, just two more than the previous week.

Both weeks have been the lowest since before Memorial Day weekend, when only 22 cases were reported in the week leading up to the holiday.

Since last Thursday at noon and Tuesday at noon, only 14 new cases were reported, bringing the overall COVID numbers in the county to 890. Of those, 110 remain active, including five hospitalizations.

Since August 5th, the number of recoveries have gone up 184 to 768.

ACROSS THE STATE

The Tuesday update from the Indiana State Department of Health shows 850 new cases across Indiana, bringing the state total up to 81,847.

28 new deaths were reported, with 2,954 deaths reported overall since March in Indiana.

Just over 12,000 new tested individuals were reported in the Tuesday update, with 928,614 people tested overall.

The positivity rate in Indiana over the past seven days is at 7.8 percent, while the overall rate is 8.8 percent.

The seven-day rolling average for cases is now at 850, down from 945 reported last Monday.
