Kosciusko County nears blue advisory as coronavirus metrics continue improvement

Kosciusko County and three other neighboring counties could be headed toward the lowest coronavirus advisory in a week as numbers have continued their consistent improvement.

The weekly county metric update from the Indiana Department of Health has Kosciusko County positivity rate at 3.2 percent, while cases per 100,000 residents have gone done to 81. Overall, the moving average of daily positive cases is down to nine, the lowest since late September.

Neighboring Elkhart, Marshall and Fulton Counties are also in line to improve to blue next Wednesday if numbers hold steady or further improve.  

Overall throughout the state, an additional 1,019 positive cases were reported along with 14 new deaths on Wednesday. The state’s positive rate over the past week is at 4.1 percent.
