The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department announced several promotions on Wednesday.
Included was Joel Popenfoose who was promoted to Patrol Sergeant, Caleb Snyder who was promoted to Corrections Corporal, and Doug Light to Deputy Sheriff.
Sergeant Popenfoose has been with the department since 2011, who along with patrol duties, is a field training officer and SWAT operator. Corporal Snyder has been with the department since 2014, starting as a corrections officer. He is also part of the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team.
Deputy Light was hired in conjunction with Wawasee Schools in September as the school resource officer at Wawasee Middle School and North Webster Elementary, and is now a full time employee with the Sheriff’s Department. Light has been part of law enforcement since 1995, starting with the Warsaw Police Department.
