The statewide unemployment rate may have only dropped one-tenth of a percent in the latest report, but locally, the drop was a bit bigger. In Kosciusko County, the jobless rate now stands at 3-point-6 percent. That's two-tenths of a percent down from last month and well below last year's 4-point-4 percent. Elkhart, Whitley and Marshall Counties rates are a bit lower than Kosciusko's rate. Concern for several area employers has gone from not being able to offer enough jobs, to not having enough qualified workers available to fill open positions.
