Kosciusko County will use grant money for major repaving project

Kosciusko County has lined up funding for a major repaving project.

The county was informed recently that it would receive $797,587 from the Community Crossings matching grant program operated by the state.

The money will be used to help cover the cost of repaving about a 7.5-mile stretch of road along CR 900N between Ind. 19 and Ind. 15.

County officials anticipated winning the state award and had already begun the bidding process for a contractor.

On Tuesday, the county awarded the project to Phend & Brown, Milford, which submitted a bid of $1,163,809 for the project.

The paving work will be done early next summer.
