INDIANAPOLIS — Several lawmakers are trying to stop Indiana University from requiring students and employees to get a coronavirus vaccine.

State Representative Jim Lucas wrote a letter asking Governor Eric Holcomb to use his executive authority to stop IU from requiring the shot before returning to class.

On the other hand, IU says the policy is needed to protect its students and employees from COVID-19.

Governor Holcomb’s office says they’ve received the letter, and the governor will review it when he is back from Israel. He is supposed to return to Indiana today.
