Legal challenges have popped up over Indiana pulling out of the federal unemployment program that’s been paying benefits to hundreds of thousands of Hoosiers during the pandemic.

Law firm Macey Swanson Hicks & Sauer and Indiana Legal Services have joined a lawsuit filed in Marion County that says ending the program will hurt Hoosiers across the state.

They also claim that Indiana law requires the state to secure federal insurance benefits for people who live here.

Governor Holcomb announced that Indiana was pulling out of the program as of Saturday because the state has so many unfilled jobs already.
