Lee Anne Stewart Dancers Participate in National Competition

The Lee Anne Stewart Fusion Dance Team recently attended a national convention and competition in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  The dancers participated in four days of classes in ballet, contemporary, tap, jazz, and hip hop styles.  The classes were taught by excellent master teachers including So You Think You Can Dance all stars, Kathryn McCormick and Robert Roldan.  Instructing in the tap class was the second runner up of the eleventh season of SYTYCD, Valerie Rockey.

The dancers performed excellently and had a very successful competition. All nineteen of the pieces brought by Fusion Dance Team scored first and second places.  An overall judges’ choice award was presented to the junior line dance, “Hard Knock Life”. The mega production dance “Festival of the Lion King”, performed by all thirty-nine team members, scored a first place and received the overall judges’ choice award.

The Lee Anne Stewart Dance School has three studio locations.  Situated in Nappanee, Warsaw High School Performing Arts Center, and on Dewart Lake, Stewart offers convenience for multiple communities.  Enrollment for classes is ongoing.
