Would-Be Leesburg Brewer Using Internet To Raise Funds

A crowdfunding effort is underway for the proposed HopLore Brewing Co. that plans to renovate the old Leesburg Mill and open sometime next year.
The group hopes to raise about $30,000. The 30-day campaign is set to conclude Dec. 17, said Stefan King, one of two operators
Details of the endeavor are available at www.indiegogo.com/projects/hoplore-brewing-company-local#/. The website lists eight gift levels offered in exchange for donations.
A donation of $25 will get you a HopLore branded pint glass and sticker. Participants offering $50 will receive a Hoplore branded T-shirt, pint glass, keychain and sticker.
On the more generous end, $2,000, one can name one of the tanks; and at $4,000, the donor can choose a name for the brew house, where the drinks are actually brewed.
The business will be run by King and a partner, Joe Hull, an Elkhart man who has a background in biological engineering and will serve as head brewer.
The building is owned by area businessman Nick Deeter, who recently had the property unincorporated from the town of Leesburg so it could have access to liquor licenses available to businesses in the county.
The operators  hope to see the pub open by March or April.
As of today, they had generated about $690.
