A man arrested in connection to a shooting death outside the Gemini Bar on U.S. 33 could go to trial in early March. 25-year-old Cortez Wheeler is charged with the murder of Cordero Williams-El in 2012. He also faces unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. According to court files, police determined both Wheeler and Williams-El pointed a gun at each other just before Wheeler pulled the trigger. Williams-El died from a gunshot wound to his chest. If convicted on both counts, he could face 85 years in prison.
