Man from Syracuse dies in crash on U.S. 30 near Pierceton

Kosciusko County officials are currently investigating a motor vehicle traffic crash on US 30 at 250 South near Pierceton. The operator of vehicle sustained fatal injuries in the single vehicle crash.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies and emergency personnel responded to US 30 near 250 South to a reported single vehicle crash at approximately 1:58 A.M.. The incident involved a westbound blue Chevrolet Malibu that exited US 30, and lost control. Once off the roadway the Chevrolet traveled the ditch line and began to roll multiple times. The driver was identified as Christopher J Pezan., 23 years of age, of Syracuse Indiana. Christopher J. Pezan was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.

Officers stated that the crash is still currently under investigation. The Kosciusko County Fatal Team was assisted at the scene by members of the Lutheran EMS, Pierceton Fire Department, Pierceton Police Department, and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
