MILFORD – A man was airlifted to a hospital following a work-related accident at Maple Leaf Feed Mill in Milford.

According to Milford Fire Department Assistant Chief Todd Haines, MFD received the call at 8:46 a.m. Wednesday. A grain bin was empty and a man was sweeping up what was left when he stepped into an auger at one of the bins. His leg was caught up to the groin area, Haines said.

The man was conscious when fire crews were on scene and he was airlifted to a hospital and listed in critical condition.

Assisting agencies included Syracuse, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Goshen, Elkhart and Clay Township fire departments.
