One person died after a fight led to a shooting in the parking lot outside of Bar Louie at University Park Mall in Mishawaka.
Officers with the Mishawaka Police Department and St. Joseph County Police were called to the mall on the report of a fight around 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, June 11, according to the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit.
The fight led to a shooting.
The victim, Benito Estevan Bueno, 27, was found lying in the parking lot, suffering from at least one gunshot wound, Metro Homicide stated. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have been working since their arrival at the mall documenting and gathering evidence. Additionally, several witnesses have been interviewed at the County Metro Homicide Unit.

Bar Louie released a statement about the shooting:
“We are deeply saddened by the situation that occurred last night outside at our location in Mishawaka. Our first and primary concern is for the friends and family of the victim. We send our deepest condolences.
We are fully cooperating with local authorities. It is our understanding that after the guests left Bar Louie last night, there was an altercation in the parking lot. We do not have any further details to share at the moment.”
