Memorial Day Events Planned In Kosciusko County

Many events are planned for the Memorial Day weekend in Kosciusko County.
WARSAW – A Memorial Day ceremony will be May 25 at Oakwood Cemetery. The Kosciusko County Choir will perform from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., and the program will begin at 11 a.m. A picnic will be at Post 49 following the program.
WINONA LAKE – Medal of Honor recipient Sammy L. Davis will be at Winona Lake Park May 25 for a Memorial Day presentation at the Tracey Yeager Memorial 5K at 9 a.m.
MENTONE – The Bell Aircraft Museum and the Mentone Chamber of Commerce are organizing a Memorial Day program to be held at the circle at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mentone Cemetery.
They will honor deceased veterans of the area, and are asking the community to notify them of any who have passed in the last two years.

The program will close with a reception at the Bell Aircraft Museum, 210 S. Oak St., Mentone.
LEESBURG – The Leesburg community will have a Memorial Day parade and service May 25 at 10:30 a.m. to honor those who have served the country.
It is asked that all participants be in place by 10:15 a.m. The public is encouraged to come downtown to view the parade entries parked along the red brick streets. Suggested parking is in the Maple Leaf parking lot.
There will be a flag raising at the town hall by the Boy Scouts before the parade. The parade will proceed from the town hall south on Pearl Street then west on Prairie Street to the Leesburg Cemetery.
SILVER LAKE – A Memorial Day ceremony will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, Myrtle Glen Drive.
NORTH WEBSTER – A Memorial Day service will be at 9 a.m. May 25 at Thorn Cemetery; at Salem Cemetery at 9:30 a.m.; at Mock Cemetery at 10 a.m.; at Post 253 at 10:30 a.m.; a parade starts in downtown North Webster at 10:45 a.m., and a Memorial Day service will be at 11 a.m. at North Webster Cemetery.
PIERCETON – A Memorial Day Parade begins at 11 a.m. May 25 at Pierceton Elementary School and goes to Brower Park.
