Mentone Fire Department gets pet oxygen mask donation

First responders with the Mentone Fire Department are now some of the best equipped in the country to save a pet’s life. They now have a pet oxygen mask kit, donated to the department by Invisible Fence of South Bend. The mask will allow firefighters to give oxygen to pets who are suffering from smoke inhalation after being rescued from fires, which could mean the difference between life and death.

Invisible Fence has donated over 12,000 mask kits to fire departments in the U.S. & Canada as part of their “Project Breathe”.

A press release from Invisible Fence says an estimated 40,000 to 150,000 pets die in fires each year, most from smoke inhalation. They say their donated masks have save over 150 pet lives so far.
