PIERCETON — Cause of a fire that quickly destroyed a mobile home on the south side of Pierceton Saturday night is still under investigation.

The mobile home blaze at 536 S. First St. was fully engulfed by the time firefighters arrived, according to Pierceton Fire Department Lt. Nathan Rhoades.

Renters were living in the home, but nobody was home at the time and there were no injuries, Rhoades said.

The fire is still under investigation, Rhoades said.

It was reported at about 8:30 p.m.

The home was just a few blocks away from the Pierceton fire station and directly across from Welch Packaging.

The property is owned by Jeff, Nathan and Ashley Larson, according to the Kosciusko County GIS system.

Sidney Fire Department and Tippecanoe Township Fire Territory also responded to the fire.

Crews returned Sunday morning to put out some “hot spots,” but were back at the station by 10:30 a.m.

The fire also damaged a nearby vehicle. News Now Warsaw photo by Dan Spalding.
