WARSAW — Organizers of this year’s Guadalupe Festival say they’ve expanded parking and urging food vendors to be better stocked ahead of Saturday’s event.
In the previous 15 years, the Hispanic culture festival at Our Lady of Guadelupe Church on North Detroit Street has continued to grow.
One of the main organizers, Diana Diaz Barringa, said they believe last year’s crowd was 4,000 to 5,000 people, based on the number of meals sold.
She said they expect even more people this year and have worked hard to improve parking.
More areas have been set aside along North Detroit Street for authorized parking, and they will rely more this year on volunteers and signage to help visitors get into the festival grounds. Golf carts will be available for some of the more distant parking areas.
Food sales are a huge part of the festival, and the number of vendors has been increased to 20 this year.
In previous years, vendors have run out of food because of strong demand, and organizers are urging them to be better prepared to accommodate the crowds.
Below are some of the food items with descriptions.
Admission is free and the event runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
