WARSAW — Kosciusko County appears to have avoided the brunt of a large-scale winter storm, but more light snow is expected through Sunday, the National Weather Service predicts.
More than two inches of snow fell since Saturday afternoon and another 1-3 inches of accumulation is expected Sunday.
Some parts of Central and southern Indiana, which remain under a winter storm warning, saw about an inch an hour overnight.
The storm stretched as far west as Arizona and could still eventually dump a foot of snow on New York City.
Aside from snow, northern Indiana remains bitterly cold.
Warsaw’s Sunday forecast: High near 13 with wind chill values as low as -10. Winds will be 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 20.
Snow should diminish by 10 p.m. and the low will dip to around 5. Wind chill values will be as low as -10.
Slightly colder temperatures are expected on Monday, but no snow is in the forecast.
Monday night will see a low around -2, and wind chill values could be as low as -20, the weather service said.
