Sunday’s rains proved to be a washout for Mother’s Day, but some much needed rain as many areas continue to catch up on rainfall deficits from last summer.

In Kosciusko County, the highest rainfall total came southwest of Milford in the unincorporated community of Hastings, where two and three-quarters of an inch of rain fell. Many other areas of Kosciusko County, including Warsaw, saw well over two inches of rain.

Heavy rain amounts were also seen in Miami County, where two and two-thirds of an inch of rain fell in Amboy. Two and a half inches of rain was recorded in Churubusco in Whitley County, while Columbia City recorded two inches.
