TIMES UNION REPORTS – Alongside Clayton Garden Center and the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce, the Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams is hosting a free native landscaping event on Sept. 21 from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., at the Lilly Center, 806 Connection Circle, Winona Lake.

The learning opportunity is designed for business owners, and school and parks department professionals, but anyone is welcome. RSVP to Sarah Baier, education program specialist at the Lilly Center (baiersr@grace.edu), soon. Only 15 spots are available, according to a provided news release.

Brad Clayton, education and marketing manager at Clayton Garden Center in North Webster, will share expert solutions for implementing native landscaping in public places. After the event, attendees will know how native species differ from other plant species, how native plants can benefit public landscaping and how to incorporate native plants into existing areas.

“Breakfast is included! Attendees can join us for a tour of the Lilly Center’s native gardens, too,” said Baier. “Come prepared to ask questions. Brad is a wealth of information.”

More details are available on the Lilly Center’s website lakes.grace.edu/events.
