North Webster man arrested for molesting girl

NORTH WEBSTER – A North Webster man has been arrested on charges of inappropriately touching a young girl.

Michael Daniels, 46, of 171 EMS W30 Lane, North Webster, was charged Friday with one count of child molesting, a level one felony.

The charges result from an alleged incident on Sept. 4 while a family were guests at Daniels’ lake cottage, according to a probable cause affidavit from the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.

The girl said she was sleeping on the top bunk, when Daniels pulled her dress up and pulled down her underwear, and touched her in her private area, the affidavit states.

The girl then went to her parents’ room and woke them up and told them what happened. The family left the Daniels’ home without telling them. The girl’s mother sent a text to Daniels’ wife to tell her what happened.

His wife said that she talked to Daniels and he said he was drunk and could not say for sure that it didn’t happen, the affidavit states.

Daniels was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Friday afternoon. He is currently out on bond.
