Notre Dame Receives Historically Significant Bible

The university of Notre dame has received a historically significant bible that traces back to the universities beginnings. The bible was once owned by the first Catholic Priest ordained in the United States. Rev. Stephen Badin built a log chapel on the land that is now Notre Dame University and this bible was given to him at his ordination in 1793. Notre Dame's founder built the university on the same ground Badin. Some 172 years later a replica of the original log cabin is still on campus.
