Efforts to remove the old Center Lake pier began Friday when a contractor, Milestone Contractors, began pulverizing the cement platform, according to a report by the Times-Union. The city of Warsaw is having it removed at a cost of nearly $400,000. The old structure contributed to e-coli in the lake and was crumbling in some spots. Two new piers are planned for Center Lake, but the city is still working to secure funding. News Now Warsaw photo by Dan Spalding.
