One dead in collision north of Palestine Lake

BURKET — A 34-year-old Warsaw man died in a collision north of Palestine Lake Friday morning.

The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of CR 200S and CR 550W.

Police said 34-year-old Kevin Harris of Warsaw died in the accident.

Police determined that a 2006 Hummer H2 was north bound on CR 550W and collided in the intersection with a 2010 Toyota Tacoma traveling west on CR 200S.

The Hummer was driven by 56-year-old Michael Kolesiak of Akron. The Tacoma
was driven by Harris.

The 2006 Hummer failed to yield the right of way to the 2010 Tacoma.

Harris sustained fatal injuries from the collision and was pronounced dead by Kosciusko County Coroner Tyler Huffer at the scene.

The crash investigation was turned over to the Kosciusko County Fatal Team.The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Burket Fire Department, Warsaw Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, Mentone EMS, Samaritan Air Ambulance and the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
