Paving Service Scam Cause Police To Look For 2 Men

Indiana State Police and the Noble County Sheriff's Department are asking for your help identifying two men who they say have been soliciting their paving services, and in doing so, allegedly scammed an elderly couple out of thousands of dollars. Officers say last Wednesday, two white men, believed to be father and son, were in the Cromwell area when they offered to spray blacktop sealer on top of a couple's gravel driveway. They quoted the couple approximately $200 for the job but after it was done asked for about $2,000. After they were paid, one of the men went back into the home where it is alleged that he stole cash. The older of the two victims is described as heavy-set with skin tags on his eyelids and the second as possibly between 18 and 20 years of age. They were said to have been in a red Ford pickup truck with a black tank in the bed. Anyone with information about the men is asked to contact police.
