Roughly 100 people showed up in Warsaw’s Central Park on Saturday evening for a peaceful protest.
The group was part of the national movement for the outcry of the death of George Floyd, a black man who was killed in Minneapolis by former police officer Derek Chauvin, who kneeled on his neck for nine minutes.
The organizer, Maria Medina, said the gathering was a last minute collaboration, but she was overwhelmed by the response it got:
She said having it in a small community like Warsaw is just as important as it is elsewhere.
