Percent of positive cases down slightly in state, up locally

The Wednesday update from the Indiana State Department of Health showed a slight decline in the amount of positive cases in the state, but up slightly locally.

The percent of positive cases in Kosciusko County is 6.2 percent, up two-tenths of a percent from Tuesday’s update. The state dashboard shows three additional cases in the county, bringing the total up to 97. 15 more tests were reported, bringing the county total up to 1,575 completed COVID tests.

We’ll have a better look at the local numbers with the county health department update later in the afternoon.

ON THE STATE LEVEL

370 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the Wednesday update from Indianapolis along with 21 additional deaths. The total number of cases in the state is now 32,437 and the number of deaths is 1,871.

4,593 new tests were reported and 235,333 tests have been completed in Indiana. This reflects that 13.8 percent of cases in the state are positive, which is one-tenth of a percent lower than Tuesday.
