A house fire broke out Sunday night at a Ridinger Lake home in Pierceton. A neighbor of the home at 16 EMS R4E1 Lane reported the fire at 5:39 p.m. Sunday, according to Matt Brubaker, Pierceton fire chief. The home is owned by Keith and Phyllis Bays, who rent out the home. The renters’ dog and cat were in the home at the time of the fire and were transported to Lake City Animal Clinic for smoke inhalation, Brubaker said. The cause of the fire is electrical and damage is estimated at $10,000. Pierceton and North Webster fire departments assisted as well as Multi-Township EMS.
