Pierceton town council members approved closing Market Street in front of the fire station and town hall Monday for the fire station’s open house Oct. 11 from 1 to 4 p.m. Fire chief Matt Brubaker made the request at the Monday’s town council meeting. The chief added that the open house is for Fire Prevention Week and a meal will be served. Brubaker said the ladder truck passed inspection along with the pump on the engine truck recently. A report on the hoses hasn’t been returned, but the hoses will probably have to be replaced next year.The next meeting is Oct. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in town hall.
