A pipe bomb was found on the old Arnolt Property in Warsaw Wednesday evening.

Warsaw Police say a passerby called 9-1-1 after walking next to the building and located what he feared was a pipe bomb on the north end of the property along Hendricks Street. When officers arrived, they found a piece of galvanized metal that was capped at both ends and what appeared to be a burned-out fuse attached.

Warsaw called in the Fort Wayne Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit, along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to assist. When officials with the explosives team attempted to render the device safe, it exploded. Officials say there were no injuries or significant damage from the explosion.

Police say no suspects have been taken into custody from the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact Warsaw Police at 574-385-2210.
