Plymouth man arrested in connection with February deadly collision

A Plymouth man has been arrested in connection with a crash back in February in which a 44-year-old man was killed.

Auston Masson, 22, was arrested on Friday, Oct. 29, on preliminary charges of causing a death in a traffic accident while intoxicated on a controlled substance, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

Christopher Swihart was a passenger in Masson’s vehicle which collided head-on with another vehicle on State Road 15 near County Road 50, according to court documents. Swihart died shortly after being taken to the hospital.

Masson had marijuana and Adderall in his system at the time of the collision, court documents stated.

He told investigators he had used marijuana three days before the crash and that he had taken Advil, though blood tests revealed an amphetamine was present in his system, The Elkhart Truth reported.
