Police Asking For Help Finding Hit & Run Suspect

The South Bend Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a hit & run crash which resulted in the death of Quentin L. Freeman in the morning hours on Sunday August 24th. Mr. Freeman was operating a moped traveling southbound on Franklin Street at Dubail Street in South Bend when he was struck from behind by a vehicle ejecting his female passenger.  The suspect vehicle continued southbound on Franklin dragging Mr. Freeman and his moped a considerable distance resulting in fatal injuries to Mr. Freeman. As a result of investigation, the South Bend Police Department is asking for assistance in locating this suspect vehicle described as a 1987-1996  Ford F-150 pickup, red and white in color.  This vehicle is a standard cab having noticeable rust over both fenders and at the lower body.  The vehicle also has larger than stock tires which raise the height of the vehicle.  The driver has been described as a male white having sandy blonde curly hair with a male white passenger.  The suspect vehicle may or may not have damage to the front.
