A 17-year-old South Bend boy has died after the police chase from Elkhart to Osceola, which ended when the driver of the suspect vehicle smashed into a tree. Mario Beristain passed away, Monday, due to his injuries. Elkhart County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Forest River Cardinal factory on Old U.S. 33 around 3:30, Monday morning. They saw the suspect vehicle taking off from the area. The pursuit ended at Jefferson and Tanglewood when the car collided into a tree.Three other teens, ages 17 and 19, suffered serious injuries.
