A 16-year-old juvenile from Rochester has been taken into custody following a police pursuit. He’s facing preliminary charges of Auto Theft, Resisting Law Enforcement, and False Informing.

At approximately 6:10 P.M. the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and Warsaw Police Department responded to a theft in progress near the intersection of Ft. Wayne St and Harrison Street in Warsaw. A short time later a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputy witnessed a vehicle that matched the description provided for the theft suspect.

The Deputy attempted to pull over the Dodge Caravan involved in the incident. The driver did not stop for the Deputy and continued to travel through Warsaw. They then disregarded a traffic signal at the intersection of Bronson St. and Winona Avenue, causing a traffic collision with a vehicle not involved in the alleged theft.
