Prosecutor releases statement on driver from Syracuse double fatality wreck

Kosciusko County Prosecutor Dan Hampton has released the following statement regarding the arrest of Mickgomery W. Hisey, the surviving driver in a alcohol-related car crash that took two lives on Christmas Day:

My office has received recent inquiries by press agencies of the medical status of Mickgomery W. Hisey, 26, Syracuse, as related to the December 25, 2016, double-fatality crash that occurred in Kosciusko County.

Hisey is still under medical supervision at a medical facility, which we cannot disclose due to HIPAA privacy laws.

Rest assured, law enforcement is currently and continually monitoring his whereabouts as the investigation continues.

The Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office advises that the defendant’s charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

News Now Warsaw is continuing to investigate Hisey’s status and will provide updates as soon as confirmed.
