R.R. Donnelley closing plant in Plainfield

Staff Report

INDIANAPOLIS – R.R. Donnelley and Sons will close its Plainfield facility and eliminate 79 jobs.

The company’s plan was confirmed in a notice to the state and posted on the Department of Workforce Development website Friday.

The company cited “changing market conditions” as the reason to permanently close the facility.

On its website, RRD called the 270,000-square-foot facility one of the largest in the company.

According to its website, the Plainfield plant provides final-stage product assembly, medical device kitting, direct-to-consumer web fulfillment, and point-of-purchase display assembly.

RR Donnelley operated one of its biggest facilities in Warsaw for decades, but that property was taken over by LSC Communications in 2017.

LSC continues to operate its facility in Warsaw.
