Richard “Rick” Morse Brundage of Winona Lake, Indiana passed away at 8:55 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Goshen Health Hospital in Goshen, Indiana at the age of 71.

He was born on December 12, 1951 in Mansfield, Ohio to Geraldine Dorothy (Morse) Brundage and Leonard Austin Brundage.  Rick graduated from Malabar High School in Mansfield in 1970, earned his Bachelor’s degree from Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana in 1974 and his Master’s Degree in 1977 from Grace Theological Seminary.

He married his college sweetheart, Susan Marie Humberd, of Delphi, Indiana on March 24, 1973 at Grace Brethren Church in Flora, Indiana.  They were just one week from celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.  Rick and Susan were blessed with two children, Noelle and Nathan and were overjoyed when they became grandparents.  He absolutely adored his two granddaughters, Addisyn and Keira Daley, and was their number one fan at sporting events.

Rick loved to serve his Lord in Christian Education and had the honor of being the first principal of Lakeland Christian Academy in Winona Lake in its first two years, 1974-1976.  He was the youth pastor at Lexington, Ohio Grace Brethren Church, followed by teaching at Mansfield Christian School where he had attended in grade school.  He served as a teacher and administrator at two Christian Schools in Ohio and as the Assistant to Administrator for Human Resources at Warsaw Christian School.  Rick also served as the Director of Supporting Services for Grace Schools for 10 years and Human Resource Director at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw.  Rick was an Insurance Associate with AFLAC for over 12 years where he was recognized on two occasions as the number one agent country-wide.

Throughout his life Rick found a church home wherever the Lord placed him to work.  He Attended Grace Brethren churches in Mansfield, Lexington, and Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.  He enjoyed the fellowship of his church family at Community Grace Brethren in Warsaw since 1982.  Rick had a servant’s heart and served on the Elder Board, Deacon Committee, Christian Education Committee, Warsaw Christian School Board and taught Sunday School.  He was also involved in the church’s music ministry as he loved singing in the choir and enjoyed solos.  Rick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and loved his family and his many friends deeply.  He spent his time on this earth living his life to the fullest, loving people in a great way and he would most want to be remembered for his faith in his Savior Jesus Christ, whom he loved with all his heart and mind.
