RV shipments were down in September.
It’s a possible sign of trouble for the local economy, as the RV Industry Association reported a slow-down in the numbers.
The South Bend Tribune reports shipments of all RVs were down 29 percent in September compared to the same month last year.
The RV industry employs tens of thousands of people in Elkhart County, but the slowdown has not resulted in any mass layoffs at this point.
The latest numbers say Elkhart County’s unemployment rate was 2 point 4 percent in September, still among the lowest in the state.
