RV Industry Has Strong First Quarter

The latest report from the R-V Industry Association shows the steady increase of shipments continued through the first quarter of this year.

According to the March survey of manufacturers, shipments climbed to just more than 97,000 units, almost 8 percent ahead of last year. Wholesale shipments of all RV types for March also jumped more than 8 percent, making for the best numbers for the month since 2007. So, what's driving demand? The improving economy, low interest rates, and available credit. The South Bend Tribune quotes officials with the RV Industry as saying consumer demand has increased so much, many manufacturers report barely being able to supply dealers fast enough, with some dealers even having backlogged orders.
